Drug Plants Seized From Closet In New Castle Home
ThePittsburgChannel.com / December 31, 2009 / Staff Report
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Police say a baby nursery in a western Pennsylvania home was serving as another kind of nursery, too: a room where residents were growing and nurturing marijuana plants. Police in New Castle have yet to file criminal charges against anyone stemming from Tuesday’s raid.
Police say the plants were being grown in a closet in the baby’s room when state, federal, Lawrence County and local authorities raided the home.
Police seized four marijuana plants from the closet along with six bags of pot packaged for sale, some crack cocaine, a 9mm handgun, seven scales coated with suspected cocaine residue, three police scanners, a video surveillance camera and other paraphernalia.
The baby has been placed with her grandparent.
(Plants in the babies room? Sure can’t hurt him. They would clean the air for him because their plants, so that would be good really…..:D…..Ded….)
